Granola Bars



This recipe is for chewy granola bars or you can make loose granola.

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups, old fashioned oats
  • 3/4 c molasses granules
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 c raisins or other dried fruit
  • 3/4 c melted coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup honey or agave
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/2 c freshly milled soft wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces

Instructions:

  1. Mill 1/3 cup of soft wheat to make 1/2 cup flour (or use premade flour)
  2. In bowl combine all dry ingredients.
  3. In saucepan combine coconut oil, honey and vanilla until melted. Do not boil,
  4. Mix dry and wet ingredients, by hand.
  5. Press mixture into greased 9X13 pan.
  6. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and press mixture back into pan with back of spatula.
  8. Partially cool, about 1/2 hour before cutting.
  9. Let bars cool completely before removing from pan.

Yields 24 bars
